Services
Improving organizational resilience, capacity-building, and risk assessment.
Driven by fieldwork and direct interactions, its mission is to integrate ethics into the daily practices of organizations, innovation ecosystems, and public-private-academic partnerships. Its approach builds on three service axes:
Evaluation
Deliberation
Ethics
Through the years, I have advised and developed methodologies for local, governmental and international organizations, having them improve their: governance articulation, strategic thinking, risk analysis, participation facilitators, consensus-building processes, interactive formation atelier conceptions, multi-actor agreements, comprehensive negotiations, decision assessment, conflicts of interest analyses, standpoint framing, theoretical positioning, and so on.

Research Program
« We need to be able to face uncertainties of life whereas nothing prepares us for it. […] We need to deeply reform all our way of knowing and thinking » (Morin 2006).
My research program focuses on the application of biological theories to organizations, including innovation ecosystems. Fascinated by complexity science and its application to governance ethics, I study the socio-ecological aspects of adopting approaches at the intersection of human, animal, and environmental dimensions, as well as interdisciplinary arrangements. My research focuses on the dynamics of systemic injustices, epistemic violence, and existential risks, and proposes an ethical perspective that integrates with risk analysis. My research interests revolve around three principal axes:
Decision-Making Ethics:
Interdisciplinary Research Ethics:
Sciences-Society Ethics:
These five-pillar studies illustrate the current domains of application of my research:
Neurosciences and neurotechnologies' influence on decision-making, governance, and societies
Artificial Intelligence conception, transfer, and use
Data surveillance system conception, governance, and interoperation
Human, Animal & Forest epidemiologies under a One Health approach
Plant architecture under an adaptive management and Sustainability lens
About Me
Antoine Boudreau LeBlanc, PhD in Bioethics, is an expert in ethics & governance applied to One Health & Sustainability initiatives in the context of digital, data, artificial intelligence and social-ecological systems. Trained in biology (BSc) and ecology (MSc), prior to doing his PhD in Bioethics, he is a loan expert at UNESCO, assisting in the conception and implementation of recommendations in ethics and technologies. He recently completed a postdoctoral Scientific Residency at the Quebec Ministry of Cybersecurity and Digital Technologies on the operationalization of ethical governance in AI; and he is now conducting postdoctoral research at Laval University (CRSH AI & Metascience) on the same topic; this time applied to neuroscience and mental health in a clinical and urban context with the LiNC Lab (Mila) at McGill University in collaboration with One Urban Health Canada Excellence Research Chair (U.Montreal) and the Research Center in Regulation, Law & Governance (U.Sherbrooke) as well as the the Canada Research Chair on the Protection and Valorisation of Health Data (DOSA Chair, U. Laval). He is an editor at the Canadian Journal of Bioethics.
Fascinated by complexity in science and its application to governance ethics, he is interested in the social-ecological aspects of adopting approaches at the intersection of the human, animal and environmental dimensions, as well as the organizational arrangements for this interdisciplinarity. He mobilizes quantitative, qualitative and reflexive methods, both in his empirical bioethics research and subsequent translation at the intersection of science and policy. His current research focuses on the conceptual design and organizational settings of the techno-social-ecological dynamics that generate systemic injustices, epistemic violence and existential risks, and proposes ethical trade-offs that can be incorporated into risk analysis and strategic thinking to consolidate the programming and evaluation of private-public-academic consortia. Employing collaborative, adaptive, and reflexive management sciences, he is a community-based network methodologist. He is interested in translating biological theories (ecology and evolution) to organizational settings, including digital environments, data resources, and the sophistication of information flow mechanisms resulting from artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation ecosystems.
